Soul Music Sunday - Culture

The reggae community suffered a huge loss last August when the lead singer of Culture unexpectedly passed away. I was fortunate enough to see Joseph Hill & Culture live on two occasions. If you're a casual reggae fan and never heard of these guys give em a chance!

Alright gang it's time for a little bit of the old school. This one features MC Ricky D......better known as Slick Rick. As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I had the pleasure of seeing Slick & Doug E in concert a few years back and it was amazing. Bust it!

Wild Card Wednesday - Elvis Costello

I've always had a soft spot for rock stars that sport the specs. (I've been part of the visually impaired community since birth.) I was listening to "Celebrity Shuffle" with Eddie Money on my Sirius radio awhile back and this first track was one of his picks. Why should you care? I'm not sure. I just wanted to bring up Eddie Money- coming soon to Cobra Kai. Oh yeah!

Tribute

Hey gang! As most of you know today is the 30th anniversary of "The King's" passing. Just so happens that last week was also the anniversary of Jerry Garcia's death. Here's a two-fer to honor these two music greats.

It Must Have Been The Roses (Live) - The Grateful Dead

Judas Priest - The Hellion/Electric Eye (Live)

I'm a little beat tonight so you'll have to settle for a clip of old school Priest....

Sunday, August 12, 2007

Hey gang. I just back back from a trip and when i checked on the site i realized a lot of the links aren't working. I'm not sure what happened but it seems that the "quickshare" site songs are gone. This was a free service so I guess you get what you pay for. Unfortunately all the songs i posted in July were on Quickshare. I don't have time to upload all the tracks again, so from this point on I'll try to use mediamax. I hope most of you were able to get the tracks while they were available. Bye for now...........

Here's two of my favorite tracks from the gang. I especially enjoy the "seagull sound effect" in Cherish. Till we meet again...............

Wild Card Thursday! - Fairweather

That's right , I'm getting all crazy on you and having Wild Card Wednesday on a Thursday. Who knows what I'll do next?! Anyways here's a band that I enjoyed that seemed to disappear into thin air. It's even hard to find anything on them online. If you know what happened to em let me know. These two tracks come off one of my favorite road trip Cd's...Lusitania. Enjoy.......and have a nice weekend.
