Flogging Molly "Selfish Man" - Live

Wild Card Wednesday - Flogging Molly

It seems their are a few "Halfway to St. Patrick's Day" parties this weekend so I figured a little Irish music would be appropriate. I saw these guys open for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones about 6-7 years ago (man, time is flying by) Anyways I never heard of them up until that point and that night they blew the headliners off the stage. Here's a few tracks from the Swagger Album.

Metal Monday! - Guns N' Roses

I remember when this album came out back in '87, (I was in elementary school) Anyways Welcome to the Jungle was everywhere and of course I ate it up. One of my cousins worked at a record store at the time and she sent my brother & I Guns N' Roses t-shirts. I was so excited but when my mom saw them she immediately took them away and sent them back. At the time I didn't understand what was wrong with skulls & needles. I guess I didn't get the whole "heroin imagery" back in the day. Anyways we've all heard and overheard the hit songs off this album. Songs like Paradise City, Sweet Child of Mine, and Welcome to the Jungle are great but after hearing them for the last 20 years I've kind of gotten burnt out on em. (Kind of like hearing Stairway to Heaven or Satisfaction)- Although I never get tired of Patience (see below) Alright enough gabbing, here's my favorite track from Appetite.

My Michelle - off Appetite For Destruction

Guns N' Roses - Patience

It's Alive! - Bruce Springsteen

Richmond Coliseum - Richmond, VA - 10/24/05

I was lucky enough to find a copy of this show a few months back. This was the first (and so far only) time I've seen Springsteen in concert. I'd love to get the chance to see him with the E Street Band but this show was a memorable experience. This was one of those concerts that provided many "goose bump moments". If you're a big concert goer you know what a mean. Here's a sample of a few of my favorites from the show. This concert took place during the Devils and Dust tour which were solo performances. Bruce played acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, pump organ and even ukulele! Hope you enjoy..................

Metal Monday! - Metallica

I think I mentioned this before, but I had the pleasure of seeing Metallica back in '92. It still stacks up as one of the top 5 live shows I've ever seen. Here's a track from the boys in their prime. Turn it up!!!!

Soul Music Sunday - Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes

I got a pretty good response the last time I posted these guys so I suppose another song was in order. This has always been my favorite track from this group so I hope you enjoy. It clocks in over 8 minutes, but worth your attention.

Oh yeah for those of you with Macs here's how to download the songs.......Happy Labor Day
